It is my great pleasure that the recent results of research work and development on fluid power technology are published in the CD-ROM proceedings, which contain the information in 15 countries, i.e., 2 special lectures, 2 keynote lectures, 2 lectures in international exchange program from JFPS, and 135 papers, presented at the Sixth JFPS International Symposium on Fluid Power held in Tsukuba, November 7-10, 2005.
The papers in the proceedings are very interesting and very valuable for fluid power technology.

The papers were internationally reviewed by 2 or 3 reviewers and the reviewer's suggestions are reflected on the papers.
The papers of special lectures, keynote lectures and lectures in international exchange program from JFPS were not reviewed but checked the format of their texts.

We wish to express our appreciation to the special lectures, keynote lectures and lectures in international exchange program from JFPS, and to all who presented their valuable papers.
I would also like to express my thanks to all of reviewers for their respective and excellent works to improve the quality of the proceedings.

We hope that the proceedings will contribute greatly the further development of fluid power technology.
